The spirituality of God
God is Infinite

God is unchanging: He says: My Name is… “I Am

  1. THE PERSONALITY OF GOD

  2. THE SPIRITUALITY OF GOD

God is the Creator of all matter or material, although He does not consist of matter. God has no physical body, and cannot be seen

John 1:18 (KJV)
"No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him."

God is Spirit

John 4:24 (KJV)

"God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."

God is eternal

1Tim 1:17 (KJV)

"Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen."

God can not be controlled, contained, or destroyed

Act 17:24 (KJV)

"God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands"

God is not limited

Because God has no physical form, He's not limited by a physical body as we are. He can be at any place, anytime, anywhere….He is infinite, He has no limit, He is God.

  1. GOD IS INFINITE

To be “finite” means to be limited. In other words, He is unlimited, limitless with regards to:

    • SPACE

His omnipresence means that He is everywhere. There is no place on earth or beyond where He cannot be found.

      Acts 17:24-25 (KJV)
“God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that He is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Neither is worshiped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things”

The nearness and distance of God's nature
According Christian Life 2004 –Doctrine of God , the theological terms for these two concepts are immanence and transcendence. Both of the above apply to God at the same time.

      Immanence [nearness]
“Immanence come from the Latin word “in” (n) and “maneo” (to dwell or abide) meaning to operate or remaining within. Thus meaning to remain in and outside of this “world” of time and space which He created. This indicates to God's activity and presence within HUMAN NATURE, NATURE, AND HISTORY.

Keep in mind that God has personality.

      Jeremiah 23:23-24 (KJV)
“Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off? Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD”

      Transcendence [Distance]
God is not limited by human boundaries, and exceeds all of them.

      Example:
Due to God's Holiness He can't participate in the boundaries of wickedness as some humans indulge themselves into. God exceeds us in the boundaries of knowledge, goodness, greatness, holiness, purity etc.

      Psalm 133:5-6 (KJV)
“Who is like unto the LORD our God, who dwelleth on high, Who humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth!”

      Isaiah 55:8-9 (KJV)
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts”

    • TIME

      God lives in eternity.

God says I am the beginning and the end. The alpha and the Omega.

For God there is no “yesterday” or “tomorrow” for Him it's always TODAY.

He says: “I Am” meaning He's the present tense God .There is No age in God, nor a beginning or a end.
    • KNOWLEDGE

      Psalm 104:24
“O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches”

      Psalm 139 says it all.
    • POWER

      Luke 1:37 (KJV)
“For with God nothing shall be impossible”

      Mat 19:26 (KJV)
“But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.”
  2. GOD IS LIFE

God is the ultimate source of life. He created life, also human- life from nothing, [ex-nihilo]because He is Life. John 14:6
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
John 5:26
"For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself."
According Christian life 2004: Doctrine of God, –there are two things we notice from God's life:

    1. It has NO source of beginning, and
    2. It doesn't depend on anything to continue

Acts 17:25 (KJV)
“Neither is worshiped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things”

5. GOD IS UNCHANGING

Jehovah: Jehovah means "I Am That I Am", revealing that God is the self-existing and ever-existing One.

God's Name “I AM” signifies that He's unchanging, constant, always the same - whether it be tomorrow, yesterday or today.

The Name Jehovah originates from the verb “TO BE” and includes the past, present and future tense. [He who Was, Is, and Is to come]

As a constant being, God can be trusted and relied upon.

Psalm 33:11 (KJV)
The counsel of the LORD standeth forever , the thoughts of his heart to all generations”
